Product Description
. . . . . What is an EFL device? The Ruskin electronic "resettable" fuse line (EFL) is a UL Classified heat response device for use in conjunction with Ruskin fire/smoke dampers. The EFL is STANDARD on all fire/smoke dampers ordered with electric actuators. Fire/smoke dampers ordered with pneumatic actuators may be ordered with the EFL and and EP (electro/pneumatic) switch.
How does the EFL work? The EFL cuts the power going to the actuator when the temperature at the damper exceeds 165 degrees F, 212 degrees F, or 285 degrees F. Once power is cut going to the actuator, the damper spring returns to the closed position.
See the Ruskin Firestation Option (TS150) for applications requiring the ability to reopen the damper after going closed due to elevated temperature. Typical applications requiring the reopenability of dampers are for dynamic smoke management systems (i.e. pressurizing stairwells, or pressurizing the floors above and below a fire).. Ruskin.
